THe Amazing Honeybee - America's Guest

Introduction to America

Honeybees were first brought to America in Jamestown, Virginia in 1622.  While different bee species already existed in the Americas, none were honey-producing nor as amazing pollinators as the honeybee brought from Europe.

Honeybees were considered to be essential resources such as livestock.  Crops such as apples and almonds, also introduced to America, required the pollination power Honeybees possess that doesn't exist with our native bees.

Additionally, they provided the settlers with an essential source of sweetener, food preserver and wax for numerous industrial needs.

Honeybees in Modern Day

Honeybees are just as vital today as they were to our first settlers.  Today, they are responsible for approximately 1/3 of the human diet and add more than 15 billion in annual value to the US economy alone!

Because they are such an important guest, Custom Pest Control does not treat them but rather arranges for a bee keeper to safely remove them prior to service.

If you are ever interested in some delicious honey, stop on down to CPC Headquarters where "Thomas Honey" is sold at 125 Millard Street, Dundee, NY.
